Meet Aghil
My Journey
Hi, I’m Aghil, aka Leo, and my story is anything but conventional. Born in Tehran, I moved to Montreal at the age of 13, carrying with me a deep love for music that began in my earliest memories. My path has been shaped by passion, resilience, and the drive to bridge two seemingly different worlds—music and law. I’m fluent in English, French, and Farsi, which has allowed me to connect with people from diverse backgrounds throughout my journey.
A Journey of Change and Discovery
Growing up, music was my first love. It gave me a sense of freedom and expression that became my anchor through life’s transitions. After high school, I pursued a degree in computer science and worked in tech, all while staying deeply involved in music—playing gigs as a one-man show, collaborating with local bands, and performing with renowned artists. Eventually, my passion for music led me to Los Angeles, where I performed as a keyboardist with various famous Persian artists. During my time there, I attended the Musicians Institute in Hollywood and earned a certificate in audio engineering. Immersing myself in the heart of the entertainment industry deepened my understanding of sound, performance, and the creative process.
Building a Multifaceted Career
Years later, I returned to Montreal with a new sense of purpose. I decided to pursue law, inspired by my fascination with legal reasoning and the desire to make a difference in the creative world. After earning both a civil law degree (LLB) and a common law degree (JD) from the University of Montreal, I passed the Quebec, Ontario, and California Bar exams on my first attempts. This unconventional path led me to a career where I could protect and empower creatives like myself. As a lawyer, I specialize in intellectual property, entertainment, business, and immigration law. My mission is to safeguard the rights and visions of artists, entrepreneurs, and innovators. Combining my legal expertise with my creative insight allows me to offer a truly unique perspective to my clients.
The Musician’s Heart
Music has taken me across the globe. Over the past two decades, I’ve performed in more than 20 countries and 50 cities, sharing the stage with some of the most celebrated Persian artists, including the iconic Moein. From iconic venues like the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles to the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, music has allowed me to connect with audiences on a deeply personal level. My style blends ambient, EDM, house, and world music, reflecting my diverse experiences and cultural roots. Now, I’m exploring the idea of releasing my own original music—a dream that has been years in the making.
Bridging Passion and Purpose
What makes my journey unique is the ability to balance two passions that might seem worlds apart. Whether I’m on stage captivating an audience or in a meeting protecting someone’s intellectual property, I bring the same energy, dedication, and heart to everything I do. My life is proof that you don’t have to choose between the things you love—you can make space for all of them.
Beyond the Work
When I’m not performing or practicing law, I find inspiration in photography, design, and technology. I’m fascinated by the human body and its complexity, as well as the transformative impact of meditation and spirituality on one’s life. I’m always exploring new ways to blend creativity, strategy, and personal growth—whether it’s through my music, my work, or my personal projects.
